Thunder Models 1/35 US Crawler SIXTY kit brings to life one of the most influential tracked tractors of the early 20th century. Originally designed for agriculture and industry, the SIXTY was adopted by the US military during World War I and later used across airfields, engineering units, and logistics depots throughout the interwar period and into World War II.

Historical Background:

The SIXTY crawler was a heavy tracked tractor originally produced by the C. L. Best Tractor Company, which later merged with Holt to form Caterpillar. Featuring a 60 horsepower gasoline engine and chain-driven tracks, it was widely used by the US military for hauling artillery and equipment in difficult terrain. Its rugged reliability made it a fixture on World War I battlefields and in logistics support roles well into the 1940s. Versions of the SIXTY were also adapted for airfield maintenance and general engineering duties, and many were transferred to Allied nations through support programmes.
