History:
Mounted knights were the elite of European armies during the early 15th century, and played a key role in the battles of the later stages of the Hundred Years War. At Agincourt in 1415, French knights formed the backbone of the heavy cavalry charge, while English knights often dismounted to fight alongside longbowmen. Between 1415 and 1429, the role of the knight began to evolve as battlefield tactics increasingly favoured discipline, coordination, and firepower. Nevertheless, mounted knights remained symbols of chivalric prestige and battlefield power, clad in full plate armour and wielding lances and swords from atop powerful warhorses. This set captures the drama, detail, and martial splendour of knights during one of medieval Europe’s most iconic military periods.
