History:
French infantry played a pivotal role in both World Wars, bearing the brunt of the fighting on the Western Front during WWI and later resisting the German blitzkrieg in 1940. From the muddy trenches of Verdun to the desperate battles of the Ardennes, these soldiers were equipped with evolving gear, including the iconic Adrian helmet, Lebel and Berthier rifles, and later, the MAS-36 and FM 24/29 light machine gun. Wargames Atlantics set captures this transitional period in French military history, offering hobbyists the opportunity to build forces that reflect the courage and endurance of these troops in some of the most challenging moments of the 20th century.
