History:
Between 1809 and 1814, Russian line infantry played a pivotal role in the campaigns against Napoleon’s forces. Following uniform reforms in 1809, infantry units adopted the shako headgear and simplified green tunics with red or white facings, becoming more standardised across regiments. These soldiers fought in major engagements across Europe, including the grueling 1812 Patriotic War and the epic confrontations at Leipzig and in the 1814 invasion of France. Despite harsh conditions and logistical challenges, Russian infantry earned a reputation for resilience and tenacity. This set captures the disciplined ranks and battlefield presence of Russian troops during the decisive final years of the Napoleonic Wars.
