History:
Commissioned in 2007, ROKS Dokdo (LPH-6111) is the lead ship of the Dokdo-class amphibious assault vessels serving with the Republic of Korea Navy. Designed to project power and support amphibious operations, it carries a mix of helicopters, landing craft, and marines. Measuring 199 meters in length, Dokdo provides strategic capabilities for troop transport, humanitarian missions, and regional security operations. As the flagship of the ROK Navy’s amphibious fleet, it has played a pivotal role in exercises and joint operations, symbolising South Korea’s growing naval power and blue-water ambitions.
