History:
The Jagdpanzer 38(t), known as the Hetzer, was developed in 1944 using the chassis of the Czech-built Panzer 38(t). Designed to be a small, cost-effective tank destroyer, it featured sloped armour and a powerful 75mm anti-tank gun, which gave it strong defensive capabilities despite its modest size. The Hetzer saw extensive service on both the Eastern and Western Fronts from mid-1944 until the war’s end. Crewed by four men, it was valued for its low profile, making it difficult to detect and destroy. Its combination of firepower, armour, and mobility ensured the Hetzer earned a reputation as one of Germany’s most efficient late-war tank destroyers.
