History:
The M3 Stuart entered service with the U.S. Army in 1941, but many were supplied to Britain under the Lend-Lease programme. British crews nicknamed it the ‘Honey’ due to its reliability and ease of driving, particularly compared with earlier light tanks. Though lightly armoured and outgunned by German panzers, the Stuart excelled in reconnaissance and flanking operations. In the harsh desert conditions of North Africa, it proved invaluable during battles such as Operation Crusader and El Alamein. The Stuart remained in widespread Allied service throughout the war, marking its place as one of the most iconic light tanks of WWII.
