History:
The Magach series began as modified versions of the American M48 and M60 Patton tanks acquired by Israel in the 1960s and 70s. The Magach 6B Gal Batash was a heavily upgraded M60A1 variant fitted with explosive reactive armour (ERA), a modernised fire-control system known as “Gal,” and improved survivability features. These upgrades were implemented following combat experiences during the Yom Kippur War and subsequent conflicts. The Gal Batash served throughout the late 20th and early 21st centuries, seeing operational deployment in Lebanon and other regional conflicts. Its combination of American design and Israeli innovation made it a formidable presence on the battlefield.
