History:
The North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco was developed in the 1960s as a light attack and observation aircraft for counter-insurgency operations. Entering service in 1969, the OV-10A featured excellent visibility, short take-off and landing capability, and the ability to carry bombs, rockets, and machine guns. During the Vietnam War, it was used for forward air control, close air support, and reconnaissance, proving highly effective in jungle warfare. The Bronco later served with the US Air Force, Marine Corps, and Navy, as well as several allied air forces. Its rugged design and versatility ensured a long service life, with the type still flying in specialised roles today.
