History:
Commissioned in 1941, Tirpitz was the sister ship to the famous Bismarck and became the pride of the German Kriegsmarine. Stationed primarily in Norway, she served as a major deterrent to Allied convoys bound for the Soviet Union, forcing the Royal Navy to commit significant resources to contain her. Despite rarely engaging in direct combat, her presence had a profound impact on naval strategy in the North Atlantic. After multiple attacks, Tirpitz was finally sunk in 1944 by Royal Air Force bombers, marking the end of Germany’s battleship era.
