History:
The M51A2 5-ton 6×6 dump truck was part of the M39 series of vehicles developed in the early Cold War era. During the Vietnam War, these trucks were field-modified into makeshift armoured gun trucks by US combat engineer units, designed to protect convoys from ambushes. Equipped with improvised armour, sandbags, and multiple heavy machine guns, they provided mobile firepower in hostile territory. “Peace Maker” was one such vehicle, serving in Phan Rang with the 585th Dump Truck Company. These ad-hoc vehicles became legendary symbols of ingenuity and resilience under fire.
