Airfix Plastic Model Kit
Airfix SLS Artemis Gift Set (1/144) A50202
NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) marks the dawn of a new era in human space exploration. As the most powerful rocket ever developed by NASA, SLS is the cornerstone of the Artemis programme—designed to return humans to the Moon and eventually reach deeper destinations like Mars. Blending elements from both the Apollo and Space Shuttle eras, this next-generation super heavy-lift launch vehicle showcases the height of modern aerospace engineering.
Visually striking and technologically advanced, SLS combines a massive core stage with twin solid rocket boosters and the Orion spacecraft capsule mounted at the top. The system launched on its maiden unmanned mission on 16th November 2022, with future missions planned to carry astronauts on lunar flybys and landings. Its modular design and immense thrust capacity pave the way for sustainable deep-space exploration, inspiring a new generation to look beyond our planet.
This 1/144 scale Airfix gift set provides an accurate and finely detailed model of the Artemis SLS rocket system. With paints, glue, and decals included, it’s a superb build for space enthusiasts and collectors excited about the future of human spaceflight.

History:
Developed as part of NASA’s Artemis programme, the Space Launch System is set to propel human exploration beyond Earth’s orbit for the first time in over 50 years. Built with reusable technology from the Space Shuttle and innovations for deep-space missions, SLS represents a leap forward in launch capability. Its first successful launch, Artemis I, demonstrated the system’s readiness for future manned missions. Scheduled for a crewed lunar flyby in 2025 with Artemis II, and a planned Moon landing to follow, SLS will play a key role in shaping the future of space travel—extending humanity’s reach farther into the cosmos than ever before.
