Ammo Paint Set
ATOM-20742 ATOM Soviet-Afghan War 1979–89 Soviet Camouflage Colours Set
This set contains four high-quality acrylic paints accurately representing the camouflage colours used by the Soviet Army in desert operations during the Soviet-Afghan War (1979–1989). Based on the standard scheme introduced in the 1970s, these colours were widely applied to vehicles such as the T-55 and T-62 main battle tanks, BMP-1 and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, BTR-60 and BTR-70 APCs, and the versatile MT-LB armoured carrier.
In addition to the core camouflage tones, the set includes a washable dust colour, ideal for simulating realistic weathering and operational wear seen on Soviet vehicles in the arid Afghan environment. This all-in-one solution saves valuable time and ensures colour accuracy for modellers tackling subjects from this specific Cold War conflict.
ATOM paints are water-based but behave like lacquer, offering the best of both worlds. They are self-levelling, quick-drying, and provide excellent coverage. Once dry, they form a tough, resilient surface that is compatible with acrylics, enamels, lacquers, and even stronger modelling products such as decal solutions.
The paints come in a clear 20ml bottle with a new vertical dropper cap that allows for one-handed opening and precise dispensing. Non-toxic and odourless, they can be used straight from the bottle or thinned with ATOM Thinner and Cleaner (ATOM-20500/20510/20520) or with Retarder (ATOM-20501/20511/20521).
