History:
The Nissan Cedric, introduced in 1960, became a staple of Japan’s executive-class vehicles, competing directly with the Toyota Crown. By the late 1970s, the 430 generation embraced the boxy, angular styling trends of the era while focusing on comfort and refinement. Produced between 1979 and 1983, the Cedric 430 offered a range of four- and six-cylinder engines, catering to both business and private buyers. It became a popular choice for official and chauffeur-driven use, symbolising prestige and success in Japan’s booming economy. The Cedric, alongside its sibling the Gloria, helped cement Nissan’s reputation for executive-class vehicles. Today, the 430 Cedric is regarded as a nostalgic classic, admired for its sharp lines, understated luxury, and historical importance in Nissan’s lineup.
