History:
The Honda CBX400F debuted in 1981 and quickly established itself as one of the most popular motorcycles of its time in Japan. Powered by a 399cc DOHC inline-four engine producing around 48 horsepower, it offered strong performance in the competitive 400cc class, which was especially important due to Japan’s licensing and tax regulations. The CBX400F featured advanced technology for the era, including a 16-valve engine, six-speed gearbox, and distinctive styling with angular lines and bold graphics. Its balance of speed, handling, and reliability made it a favourite among young riders and a symbol of 1980s Japanese bike culture. Even decades later, the CBX400F is remembered as an iconic machine that captured the spirit of Honda’s engineering excellence during a golden era for sport bikes.
