History:
The Honda NSR250R series, launched in the mid-1980s, was directly influenced by Honda’s dominance in 250cc Grand Prix motorcycle racing. The MC18, introduced in 1988, marked the second generation of the road bike and featured significant technological advancements, including a new chassis, improved suspension, and the PGM (Programmed Fuel Injection) ignition system for sharper throttle response. The SP (Sports Production) versions offered upgraded features such as dry clutches, lightweight components, and race-inspired colour schemes, making them highly sought after by enthusiasts. The NSR250R quickly became one of the most iconic Japanese two-stroke sport bikes of its era, prized for its combination of razor-sharp handling and exhilarating power delivery. Today, the MC18 SP Custom remains a symbol of Honda’s racing heritage, admired by collectors and riders as one of the ultimate expressions of the 1980s two-stroke era.
