History:
The Nissan Skyline GC10, produced in the early 1970s, was part of the first generation of Skylines to carry the 2000GT designation. Known as the “Hakosuka,” a combination of “hako” (box) and “suka” (short for Skyline), the GC10 became an instant classic thanks to its distinctive styling and strong performance. Positioned just below the high-performance GT-R version, the 2000GT still offered excellent driving dynamics, powered by inline-six engines that balanced power with reliability. The Hakosuka era cemented the Skyline’s reputation as both a practical saloon and a performance machine, setting the stage for the GT-R’s dominance in motorsport. Today, the 2000GT GC10 remains a highly collectible model, celebrated for its role in establishing the Skyline as a cornerstone of Japanese automotive culture.
