History:
The Nissan Skyline HGC211, introduced in the late 1970s, marked the fourth generation of the Skyline series, often referred to as the “Skyline Japan” after Nissan’s national marketing campaign. The 2000 GT-E S version featured a 2.0-litre inline-six engine with electronic fuel injection, delivering improved efficiency and smoother performance compared to carburetted models. Its boxy yet elegant design was characteristic of the period and represented a step toward modernised Japanese motoring. While less racing-focused than earlier Skyline GT-R models, the GT-E S reflected the shift toward comfort and refinement during Japan’s late-70s automotive boom. Today, the HGC211 Skyline remains a nostalgic classic, valued for its unique styling and important place in the Skyline lineage.
