History:
The Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R, launched in 1969, was originally based on the PGC10 four-door saloon before the more famous two-door coupe followed in 1971. Powered by the race-bred 2.0-litre S20 inline-six engine producing 160 horsepower, the PGC10 combined everyday usability with remarkable track performance. Known as the “Hakosuka” (box Skyline), the car quickly established dominance in Japanese touring car racing, securing dozens of victories and cementing the GT-R badge as a motorsport icon. While the coupe is often more widely remembered, the four-door PGC10 played a vital role in beginning the GT-R legend, balancing practicality with cutting-edge performance for its era. Today, the PGC10 remains a rare and highly respected piece of automotive history, admired for its role in launching the Skyline GT-R legacy that continues to this day.
