History:
The TS‑11 Iskra Bis DF was Poland’s answer to jet trainer needs during the Cold War. First flown in 1960, it provided reliable training for numerous Eastern Bloc air forces. The Bis DF variant featured improved fuel capacity, avionics, and twin ejector seats. Built locally by PZL‑Mielec, it also became the mount of Poland’s aerobatic team “Biało‑Czerwone Iskry”. Known for its robust design and easy handling, the Iskra remained in service for decades and continues to fly in heritage displays today.
