History:
The Ki‑43 II Hayabusa (“Oscar”) entered production in 1942 with a more powerful engine, self‑sealing tanks and pilot armour. It remained Japan’s primary Army fighter through major campaigns in China Burma Malaya Philippines and New Guinea despite light armament and lack of armour. It was renowned for agility but became increasingly outclassed as the war progressed .
