History:
FM-1 and FM-2 Wildcats,GM-produced variants of the Grumman F4F,served aboard US Navy escort carriers during WWII. The FM‑1 (converted F4F-4) lacked external guns; the FM‑2 featured a more powerful R-1820 engine and taller tail. These rugged fighters saw action across Atlantic and Pacific theatres, including anti-submarine warfare and Pacific convoy defense. The deluxe set even includes deck sections,perfect for diorama display.
