Initially employed with overly cautious tactics, the Bristol F2B’s potential as a formidable two-seat fighter was realised under the leadership of ace William Barker, who revolutionised No.139 Squadron’s strategy. Dalrymple’s D8084 proved its worth with confirmed double victories over Aviatik fighters on 8th August 1918 and further success against Albatros D.IIIs in September. This model commemorates the evolution of the “Brisfit” into one of the most successful Allied aircraft of the First World War, as well as the men who pushed its capabilities to the limit.
