Following Operation Torch, Churchill tanks of the 48th RTR faced the formidable German Tiger I tanks in Tunisia. Despite heavy resistance, British forces pressed forward. On 24th April 1943, a Tiger was immobilised and abandoned, enabling its capture intact by British troops. This provided crucial intelligence on German armoured strength and marked a turning point in the understanding of the Tiger’s capabilities. This model reflects that historic moment, embodying the resilience of the Churchill tank and the determination of British armoured forces.
