History:
The Gruson Fahrpanzer was designed by the German Grusonwerk company in the 1890s as a mobile armoured turret to enhance fortress and field defences. The compact armoured shell provided full protection for its crew while housing a 5,7cm fortress gun. Easily transportable, it was deployed to fortifications throughout Germany and saw service in various European armies. Though largely obsolete by the First World War, many remained in use for static defence, representing a fascinating transitional stage in the evolution of armoured warfare.
