History:
The Peugeot Armoured Car Modèle 1914 was developed in response to the early needs of mechanised warfare during the First World War. Based on the Peugeot Type 146 commercial truck chassis, the vehicle was armoured with 5–9 mm riveted steel plate, offering basic protection for its four-man crew. It was typically armed with a Hotchkiss M1914 8 mm machine gun, although some variations carried a second weapon or additional observational equipment. With a top road speed of around 45 km/h, it provided French forces with a mobile platform for reconnaissance and light support roles. Despite its limitations in off-road capability, the Model 1914 became a notable early example of armoured car design, influencing similar developments in other countries.
