History
The Garford-Putilov armoured car, introduced during World War I, was one of the heaviest armoured vehicles of its time. Armed with a 76.2 mm gun in the rear turret and several 7.62 mm Maxim machine guns, it provided both direct and suppressive fire on the battlefield. The MG compartment, typically located in the forward and side positions, was manned by dedicated gunners who operated under cramped and armoured conditions. Ammunition boxes were stored within easy reach, and the firing ports were protected by armoured shutters when not in use. This compartment played a vital role in defending the vehicle against infantry attacks and supporting the main gun, making its accurate depiction a key detail for historically faithful scale models.
