History:
The M24 Chaffee was developed to address the shortcomings of earlier U.S. light tanks, which struggled against heavier German armour during WWII. Armed with a 75mm gun in a fully rotating turret, the Chaffee provided far greater firepower than the M5 Stuart while maintaining excellent mobility. It saw extensive combat in Europe from late 1944 onwards, where its speed and manoeuvrability made it well-suited for reconnaissance and infantry support. The Chaffee also served in the Korean War and was exported to numerous allied nations, remaining in service for decades after the war. Its combination of versatility and firepower earned it a respected place in the history of armoured warfare.
