History:
The Schnellboote, or “E-boats” as the Allies called them, were Germany’s most advanced fast attack craft of World War II. The S-38 series, introduced in the early 1940s, featured stronger hulls and upgraded armament, including heavier anti-aircraft weaponry. Operating in the English Channel, North Sea, and Mediterranean, they harassed Allied shipping with deadly effectiveness, relying on speed and stealth. The S-38/1942 variant reflected wartime upgrades, with enhanced firepower to counter Allied air superiority and improve its role in both offensive and defensive operations. These boats remain some of the most iconic and effective naval craft of WWII.
