History:
The Schnellboote, often referred to by Allied forces as “E-boats,” were German fast attack craft designed for hit-and-run operations in coastal waters. The S38B was a late-war development of the series, featuring improved armament and enhanced hull design for greater durability and speed. Armed with torpedoes, cannons, and machine guns, these boats harassed Allied shipping and naval forces in the North Sea, English Channel, and Mediterranean. Despite their small size, they proved highly effective and feared opponents due to their ability to strike quickly and vanish into the waves. The S38B represents the peak of German fast-attack boat design and remains an iconic naval vessel of WWII.
