History:
As the tide of war shifted, the German Wehrmacht frequently repurposed captured Allied equipment. One such adaptation was the use of captured British Morris C8 Quad tractors, designated by the Germans as Beutewagens. These reliable 4×4 artillery tractors were integrated into German units, particularly where logistical demands exceeded domestic production.
In this case, the C8 was coupled with the formidable 7.5cm Pak 40 anti-tank gun, a weapon capable of defeating nearly all Allied armour. With its high-velocity projectile and effective deployment in concealed positions, the Pak 40 became a staple in German defensive operations from 1942 onwards.
This set by Gecko Models captures the unique wartime improvisation of using a captured British vehicle to tow one of Germany’s most important anti-tank weapons. It offers modellers a chance to depict a lesser-seen yet historically significant scene from the complex logistical reality of WWII.
