History:
The Ford G917T was a reliable 3-ton cargo truck produced under license in Germany during WWII, with over 25,000 units built by 1941. Versatile and widely deployed, it saw service in many theatres. Field workshops frequently converted these trucks into flak platforms by mounting the 2 cm Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun onto the flatbed. The result was a quick-response mobile AA unit effective against low-flying aircraft and lightly armoured ground targets. These makeshift flak trucks were vital for defending supply lines and convoys, especially in areas with limited Luftwaffe cover.
