Italeri Sd. Kfz. 140 Flakpanzer 38(t) Gepard (1/35) 96461
The Sd.Kfz. 140 Flakpanzer 38 “Gepard” in 1/35 scale offers a finely detailed model of one of the German Army’s early self-propelled anti-aircraft platforms developed during World War II. Based on the reliable and manoeuvrable Panzer 38(t) light tank chassis—originally of Czechoslovak design—the Gepard was equipped with a 20mm Flak 38 cannon mounted on a rotating, shielded platform to provide essential air defence for advancing armoured units.
The vehicle’s compact design and dependable mobility made it well-suited for frontline deployment, capable of protecting convoys and mechanised formations from enemy aircraft. In combat, the 20mm Flak 38 also proved versatile in ground support roles, engaging enemy positions and light targets. This 1/35 scale kit includes detailed link-and-length tracks, a comprehensive decal sheet with four version options, and historically accurate components for an immersive building experience.

History:
Developed to address the increasing threat of Allied air superiority, the Flakpanzer 38 “Gepard” was among the earliest efforts to provide mobile anti-aircraft protection to German ground forces. Built on the dependable Panzer 38(t) chassis, it balanced agility and firepower in a compact form. Although it would eventually be overshadowed by more heavily armed successors like the Wirbelwind and Ostwind, the Gepard played a vital role in mid-war air defence and infantry support operations.
