History:
The MiG-25 Foxbat was developed by the Soviet Union in response to the American SR-71 and B-70 programmes. Capable of exceeding Mach 2.8, the aircraft was one of the fastest military jets ever built and operated, utilising high-altitude capabilities to intercept strategic threats. The PD and PDS variants introduced upgrades in radar, avionics, and ECM equipment, with the PDS also receiving limited fighter-bomber capabilities. Though imposing in performance, the Foxbat was a brute-force solution that prioritised speed over agility, and it served primarily with Soviet and later Russian air defence forces. Its legacy includes several world speed and altitude records, as well as a long career as an interceptor across multiple nations.
