History:
The North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco was developed in the 1960s to meet the U.S. military’s need for a rugged, versatile light attack and reconnaissance aircraft. The D variant introduced upgrades such as a forward-looking infrared (FLIR) sensor and laser designator for precision targeting. Extensively used during the Vietnam War and later conflicts, the Bronco proved invaluable for its ability to loiter over targets, operate from short runways, and provide real-time intelligence to ground forces. With its unmistakable twin-boom layout and large cockpit offering excellent visibility, the OV-10D remains one of the most distinctive aircraft of its era, still remembered for its pivotal role in close air support and coordination operations.
