History:
The OV-10 Bronco was developed in the 1960s as a twin-turboprop light attack and observation aircraft to meet the unique demands of counter-insurgency warfare. Featuring tandem seating, a large glass canopy for visibility, and the ability to operate from rough airstrips, the Bronco became a versatile asset in Vietnam and beyond. Capable of carrying rockets, bombs, machine gun pods, and flares, it performed roles ranging from forward air control to light strike and reconnaissance. Variants such as the OV-10C served with the Royal Thai Air Force, demonstrating the aircraft’s export appeal. Even decades after its introduction, the Bronco remains one of the most recognisable COIN aircraft in aviation history.
