History:
The Junkers F13, introduced in 1919, was a revolutionary aircraft—marking the transition from wood-and-fabric biplanes to all-metal monoplane design. Designed by Hugo Junkers, it was not only the first all-metal transport aircraft but also the first intended solely for commercial passenger service. The early production version saw widespread use in civil aviation across Europe, North America, and beyond. Equipped with winter skis, the F13 was adapted for operation in remote and snowbound regions, including Scandinavia and the Soviet Union. Its durable corrugated duralumin skin became a hallmark of Junkers aircraft. MiniArt’s 1/48 rendition pays tribute to this aviation milestone with exceptional precision and detail.
