History:
The Sturmhaubitze 42, developed on the chassis of the Sturmgeschütz III, was designed to provide infantry with direct fire support. It mounted a 105mm leFH 18 howitzer, making it effective against fortified positions and enemy personnel. The late production version, such as depicted in this MiniArt kit, incorporated cost-saving measures like welded armour plates and steel return rollers, reflecting Germany’s industrial constraints in 1944–45. Used extensively on both the Eastern and Western fronts, the StuH 42 remained a valuable asset in the Wehrmacht’s arsenal during the closing stages of WWII.
