History:
The Dassault Mirage F-1 was developed in the late 1960s as a successor to the Mirage III, intended to provide improved manoeuvrability and multi-role capability. Entering service in 1973, the Mirage F-1 C served primarily as an interceptor, while the CT variant was modified for ground-attack duties. Operated by the French Air Force and exported widely, the Mirage F-1 participated in conflicts across Africa, the Middle East, and the Balkans. Its swept-wing design and powerful engine made it one of the most capable European fighters of its era. Phased out of French service in the mid-2000s, the Mirage F-1 remains an iconic aircraft of the Cold War and post-Cold War period, remembered for its versatility and reliability.
