History:
The Horch 108 Type 40 was developed as a robust cross-country vehicle for the German military during the Second World War. Produced by Auto-Union from 1938 to 1941, it was equipped with a powerful V8 engine that made it suitable for towing light artillery, transporting troops, and serving as a command vehicle. Widely deployed on the Eastern Front, the Type 40 was valued for its ability to cope with rough conditions, although production ceased as more standardised vehicles entered service. Its role in supporting Panzer divisions and artillery units ensured it became a common sight in Wehrmacht formations during the early and mid-war years. Today, surviving examples and detailed models like this Revell kit preserve the legacy of this versatile wartime vehicle.
