History:
The Leichttraktor Rheinmetall was developed in Germany in the early 1930s under the restrictions of the Treaty of Versailles, which prohibited overt tank construction. Produced as a prototype light tank, it was part of secret development projects aimed at rebuilding German armoured capability. Though only a handful were built, the Leichttraktor provided valuable experience in tank design that influenced later German armour such as the Panzer I and Panzer II. Today, its legacy is remembered not only through historical study but also in popular culture via games like World of Tanks, where it appears as an early-tier vehicle symbolising the beginnings of modern German tank design.
