History
The M1 Abrams series has formed the foundation of US armoured power since its introduction in the early 1980s. Built for survivability, mobility and firepower, the Abrams has evolved significantly through its A1 and A2 variants. The M1A1 introduced a more powerful 120mm smoothbore gun and depleted uranium armour, while the A2 added advanced electronics, thermal imaging and improved battlefield integration. Full-interior versions of these tanks offer modellers a chance to explore the complex inner workings of one of the most iconic Western MBTs, including its highly compartmentalised crew layout, powerful AGT1500 gas turbine engine and advanced fire control systems. Used extensively in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Abrams remains one of the most formidable tanks in service worldwide.
