History
The M4A4 Sherman was one of the many variants of the famous American medium tank used during World War II. Powered by a Chrysler multibank engine, the M4A4 was longer than other Sherman models and was primarily supplied to Allied forces through the Lend-Lease program. It saw widespread use with the British and Free French forces, especially in the North African and European theatres. The Sherman became a symbol of Allied armoured strength and remains one of the most recognisable tanks of the 20th century.
