History
The Panzer IV was the backbone of Germany’s armoured forces throughout World War II, and the Ausf.H marked a significant development in its evolution. Introduced in 1943, the Ausf.H featured reinforced side armour, a new drive train, and a long-barrelled 75mm KwK 40 L/48 gun. The tank’s survivability and effectiveness were enhanced to face increasing Allied opposition. Despite being eventually outclassed by newer Allied tanks, the Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.H served on all fronts with distinction and remains a key subject for military historians and modellers alike.
