History
The T-80UK is the command variant of the Soviet-designed T-80U main battle tank. Entering service in the 1990s, it combined the high-speed performance of a gas turbine engine with advanced battlefield management systems. The UK model added satellite navigation, secure communications, and improved fire-control systems, as well as the Shtora-1 active protection suite. Although expensive to produce, the T-80UK served as a technological showcase and remains in limited use with Russian and foreign forces.
