History:
The Tiger I, first deployed in 1942, was Germany’s response to encountering well-armoured Soviet tanks such as the T-34 and KV series. The Early Production variant retained many of the initial design features, including the drum-style commander’s cupola and Feifel air filters. Armed with the formidable 8.8cm KwK 36 L/56 gun, the Tiger I quickly gained a reputation for its firepower and survivability. Despite its technical superiority, it was mechanically complex, expensive to produce, and difficult to maintain in the field. Nevertheless, it served on multiple fronts, including North Africa, Italy, and the Eastern Front, and remains one of the most studied tanks of the Second World War. This kit captures both the external profile and the internal mechanics of the vehicle, making it a comprehensive project for serious modellers.
