History
The Tiger I Middle Production variant was introduced in 1943, addressing mechanical and operational refinements based on earlier battlefield experience. These tanks featured improved suspension components, new commander’s cupolas, and Zimmerit anti-magnetic mine paste. Deployed across the Eastern and Western Fronts, they played a significant role in battles such as Kursk and Normandy. Despite their complexity, mid-production Tigers maintained a feared reputation for their thick armour and devastating 88mm KwK 36 gun. Rye Field Models’ interior kit captures the engineering and design that made this tank a symbol of German heavy armour during the Second World War.
