Tamiya British Infantry Europe (1/48)
The Tamiya 1/48 British Infantry Europe set brings the soldiers of the Second World War to life with precision and realism. This set provides an excellent selection of figures in dynamic poses, ideal for dioramas depicting European battlefields from Normandy to the closing months of the war.
British infantry squads of WWII were typically made up of ten men, centred around the Bren light machine gun. The squad was split into two groups: the machine gun group, led by the second-in-command with the gunner and loader, and the rifle group, made up of six riflemen. This organisation offered flexibility and effective firepower during combat. Soldiers wore the iconic Mark II helmet and the distinctive battledress uniform, a short wool jacket paired with leggings and boots. In summer, a denim version of the battledress was common, while leather jerkins were worn during the winter months. Tank crews initially wore the same khaki battledress with a black beret before switching to coveralls later in the war.
