Tamiya Plastic Model Kit
Centaur C.S. Mk.IV (1/35) 35232
This 1/35 scale Tamiya model kit recreates the British Centaur C.S. Mk.IV, a close support cruiser tank armed with a 95mm howitzer. Originally based on the Cromwell design, the Centaur used the Liberty engine due to shortages of the preferred Meteor engine. The Mk.IV variant was the only Centaur to see combat, providing vital fire support during the Normandy landings in June 1944.
- Highly detailed plastic parts accurately depict the Centaur’s hull, turret, and running gear.
- Includes the distinctive 95mm close support howitzer.
- Realistic moulded detail for engine deck, stowage boxes, and armour plating.
- Figures and accessories to enhance diorama settings.
- Marking options for vehicles used by the Royal Marines Armoured Support Group during D-Day.
The Centaur C.S. Mk.IV was deployed from landing craft to target German defensive positions such as pillboxes, and continued supporting infantry as they advanced inland. This model offers modellers the opportunity to recreate one of Britain’s less common, yet historically significant armoured vehicles of WWII.
