Tamiya German 20mm Flakvierling 38 (1/48)
This 1/48 scale Tamiya kit recreates the German Flakvierling 38, one of the most recognisable anti-aircraft weapons of WWII. Featuring four 20mm cannons mounted together, the Flakvierling 38 provided a much-needed boost in rate of fire to counter low-flying enemy aircraft. Its versatility meant it was deployed on the ground, mounted on halftracks, fitted to tank chassis, and even installed on ships, barges, and trains.

The Flakvierling 38 was a key component of Germany’s short-range air defence network, designed originally for the Kriegsmarine but later adapted for army use. First deployed in the late 1930s, it became a common sight on the front lines of Europe, North Africa, and the Eastern Front. Its high rate of fire and adaptable mounting system made it effective against both aircraft and lightly armoured ground targets, earning it a reputation as one of the most flexible weapons in the German arsenal.
